The strength of the J/70 International Class today is the product of an immense collective effort by our community of volunteers, sailors and Class officers, including many of you. Chris and Julie Howell have been a constant presence at the centre of that work for the past 14 years, and the Class is sincerely grateful for their commitment and contribution. The Class is therefore undertaking this process from a position of considerable strength.
This process follows a proposal made to the Executive Committee by a group of National Class Associations. Its purpose is to uphold good governance and to identify the administrative leadership and structure best suited to the future needs of the Class. One possible outcome is the continuation of the existing Class Office, with modifications where appropriate.
The closing date for proposals is 31 August 2026, with full details set out in the attached document.
