The fleet of 27 boats that sailed in the first Swedish GRUNDIG CUP J/70 Championship enjoyed amazing sailing conditions all weekend. The regatta started off with relatively flat waters and 6-10 knot winds to get everyone warmed up. Then, after a big frontal passage off the North Sea, the host club Marstrand Segelsallskap was able to treat the enthusiastic fleet to races offshore in epic conditions—big seas, bright sunny weather and 15-25 knot winds. Showing everyone their extensive experience in sprit sportboats, it was Team ROCAD led by Mikael Lindqvist that won the regatta, posting four firsts in his six-race series to with just 6 points net (throwing out a second). Taking second was the Brother’s Lundqvist taking most of the remaining second places for a total of 10 points. Securing third place was Mathias Hermansson with 23 points, fourth was Magnus Tyreman with 45 points and fifth place went to Peter Bergman with 48 points.
