Hosted by the Cercle de la voile de Neuchâtel, a fleet of 13 J/70s assembled on the Lac de Neuchatel in the middle of Switzerland’s Swiss Alps for the 2022 J/70 Swiss Cup. After two days of enjoying the relatively hot, clear, sunny days, the fleet was only able to sail two races for their Swiss nationals. In the end, Manon Kivell’s SUI 1470 from Club Nautique Morgien and Lorenz Kaushce’s SUI 1120 from La Bordée de Tribord ended up tied with identical records of 1-2 for 3 points each. Since Kivell won the last race, he was crowned the 2022 Swiss Cup Champion on the countback rules. Third place was also determined by a tiebreaker with identical records of 3-5 for 8 points. As the last race wins, taking third was an Italian/Swiss team sailing with Massimo Soriano on SUI 287 from Regattaclub Bodensee. Emanuel Muller on SUI 1142 settled for fourth place. The balance of the top five saw Urs Oldani’s SUI 1379 taking fifth place. For more 2022 J/70 Swiss Cup information, visit https://www.cvn.ch/j70-swisscup-2022/.
