The 44th edition of the Massilia Cup Inshore took place from March 20-22 on the Olympic Games waters, hosted by Lacydon Nautique. More than 120 crews, including 18 J/70s, participated in this first stage of the French Cup. Conditions were perfect on Friday and Saturday with bright sunshine and winds of 6 to 12 knots. Conditions were more challenging on Sunday with winds of 10 to 20 knots and rain. After eleven races, Denis Infante’s EUROVOILES team (Louis Barbet, Francois Barbet and Theo di Guglielmo) took the win with 8 race wins and 17 points total, winning by a substantial 12 points margin. Taking the silver medal was top woman helm Béatrice Joyaud’s JOUR J team (Arnaud Jarlegan, Nicolas Dore and Eliot Merceron) with 1 victory and 29 points. The bronze medal went to Jean Picard’s MISTRAL Sailing Team (Juliette Bourgeois, Titouan Gresset, Lucas Alves Lourenco and Nolan Huet des Aunay) with 39 points. The balance of the top five included Pierre Yves Lambert’s LYNX in fourth place with 40 points, and in fifth was Herve Leduc’s JIBE SET- PIERRE OCEANE with 47 points.
