Barcelona once again delivered high-level winter racing as the 2026 Annual Sea Regatta, jointly organised by the Club Nàutic de Barcelona and the Société Nautique de Genève, was held from 21–23 February alongside the penultimate event of the Barcelona J/70 Winter Series. Now in its third consecutive year of collaboration, the partnership between the Spanish and Swiss clubs continues to strengthen the regatta’s international profile and strategic relevance. The J/70 fleet opened the regatta on Friday with three races sailed in unstable winds ranging from 7 to 12 knots, demanding sharp tactical execution. Denmark’s Sirena Chico, helmed by Peter Buhl, emerged as the early leader (1-10-1), followed closely by Noticia and Valencia-based Let it be…. Saturday brought more drama. After an initial abandonment due to a major wind shift, four races were successfully completed. Sirena Chico held onto the overall lead, but HSN Sailing Team delivered the day’s standout performance, climbing into second place, just one point off the top. With Noticia in third, the stage was set for a decisive Sunday showdown. Sunday’s opening race compressed the leaderboard even further. Noticia secured victory after overtaking HSN Sailing Team on the first beat, while Sirena Chico finished third — resulting in a remarkable three-way tie on 31 points. The title would be decided in the final race. HSN Sailing Team seized control from the start with a flawless getaway. After overtaking 838 Team on the first downwind leg, they extended their advantage while their closest rivals struggled mid-fleet. With Noticia finishing ninth and Sirena Chico thirteenth, HSN Sailing Team clinched overall victory in dramatic fashion. Noticia and Sirena Chico completed the podium.
