The Real Club Náutico de Barcelona brought the Barcelona J/70 Winter Series 2025–2026 to a close with the seventh and final event, where 28 boats once again delivered a highly competitive spectacle in the waters of the Catalan capital. Over three days of racing, the fleet competed in highly variable conditions. On Friday, with a light easterly breeze of around 8 knots, shifty winds, swell and a demanding current, Noticia and HangTen proved to be the most consistent teams of the day, each scoring a first and a second place. Ireland’s Wildcard completed the provisional podium after the opening races. On Saturday, with the wind shifting south and stabilizing at 11 to 12 knots, along with flatter seas, the competition gained pace. Noticia took the provisional lead with 19 points, followed by HangTen with 22, on a day when Active Sailing stood out with the best performance, moving into provisional third place. Sunday’s decisive day was marked by a solid southwesterly breeze that built throughout the day, starting at around 16 knots and exceeding 20 knots towards the end. HangTen secured the event victory thanks to its consistency, finishing seven points ahead of Noticia, which placed second. HSN Sailing Team completed the podium after a strong and decisive final day.
With the completion of this seventh event, and after seven regattas held since September with a total of 58 races sailed, a new edition of the Barcelona Winter Series comes to an end, further consolidating its status as one of Europe’s leading winter circuits. The overlap of this final event with the start of the Barcelona Spring Series also marked the symbolic transition from winter to spring, ensuring continuity for the J/70 Class activity in Barcelona.
In the overall standings of the Barcelona Winter Series, the HSN Sailing Team is crowned overall winner of the circuit after a highly consistent season, totaling 177 points and reaching the podium in six out of seven events. Second place goes to Noticia with 232 points, while Bodega Can Marlès completes the final podium with 289 points, confirming its consistency throughout the season.
