The Grand-Final of Russia’s National Sailing League First Division has ended in Kaliningrad. Twenty teams were competing on the water of Upper Pond from August 9-11. The fifth season of the largest sailing project of Russia has ended for the First Division teams. The NSL held a regatta in Kaliningrad for the first time. None of the teams have had experience sailing there, and that is why the races were so unpredictable. The Race Committee managed to give 39 races with constantly changing wind conditions. Every team sailed 13 races. Rocknrolla Sailing Team showed a brilliant performance and won a gold medal of the Grand-Final stage. The Calipso team from Tuapse won the silver medal both of the stage and of the 2019 season. ArtTube RUS1 won the bronze medal. The absolute winner of the National Sailing League’s First Division is the Akhmat team from Chechen Republic. The team took the lead in the overall ranking from the First Stage of the season. The team’s professional skills and strong nerves helped them to stay on the top until the very end. The top four National Sailing League teams will take part in the SAILING Champions League—Akhmat (Chechen Republic), Calipso (Tuapse), Sailing Academy of Saint Petersburg Yacht-Club (Saint Petersburg), ZID art Sailing team (Moscow) will represent Russia in 2020.
