Thirty-one J/70 teams gathered in Valle de Bravo for the Mexican National Championship on May 12-13, just ahead of the North American Championship beginning there May 16. Javier Navarro’s Bandoola recorded two bullets in four races, and added a 6,2 for 10 points and the victory. Yon Belausteguigoitia’s Bullet took second place with 15 points, three ahead of Fernando Gutierrez’s Woodstock. In the nine-boat Corinthian division, it was Luis Barrios’ Xpress who topped the group, with Ignacio Perez’s Zaguero and Horacio Fernandez’s Ragtime completing the top three.
