The 2017 J/70 Canadian Championship was held over the last weekend of June at Port Credit Yacht Club as part of the Toronto Area Hospice Regatta. Nine boats, some from as far away as Graeme Carr’s Joyridin’ from Prince Edward Island, completed four races in shifty but fantastic conditions on Saturday. Sunday’s racing was limited to one race when thunderstorms rolled through the fleet and chased them back to shore. Finishing in first place was Mark Wolff from Port Credit Yacht Club on Hot Water, second place and top Corinthian was Louis Donahue on Nirvana 7 from Orford Quebec, and third was Scott Weakley on REX also from Port Credit Yacht Club. This year’s TAHR regatta raised over $50,000 for Ian Anderson House Foundation.
