Club Veleros Barlovento and Club Nautico Albatross were co-hosts of the fifth edition of an Argentinean winter classic: the Rio de la Plata Vela Fest. The two-day event was host to a fleet of 14 enthusiastic J/70s. After a six-race series, it was Javier Conte’s ARG 1441 BACHAJO that posted a 1-1-2-14-2-2 for 8 points net after discard. Taking the silver was Alejandro Irigoyen’s ARG 1196 BUTANTAN with a 14-5-3-5-1-5 for 19 points net. Then, just two points back taking the bronze medal was Francisco Bellecchio’s ARG 1554 PRINCIPATE with a 2-2-1-10-6-12 for 21 points net.
