Winner of the Regatta is Lord of the Sail–Asia Team from Yekaterinburg

Russia’s most prestigious sailing project, the National Sailing League, held a regatta in the hospitable city of Kazan. Competitions of all three divisions—First, Second and Junior—were held in the heart of Tatarstan Republic. Administration of Tatarstan Republic helped with organization of the event, and the general partner of the project was JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation. Participants of First and Junior Divisions have competed in races from 31st of May to 2nd of June. Sailing conditions of Nizhny Kaban Lake, where races took place, were unpredictable. The wind condition was constantly changing, but the Race Committee managed to hold 29 races, less than usual. Nevertheless, races were dramatic, unpredictable and nervous. The winner of the regatta was the Lord of the Sail–Asia team from Yekaterinburg. Vyacheslav Ermolenko’s team showed great teamwork and left no chance for rivals. Chechen Republic’s team Akhmat was second for the second time in a row. The Burevestnik Sailing Team won the bronze medal. Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Republic Albert Karimov handed trophies to the winners. On Children’s Day, Junior Division’s participants started their races. 34 young sportsmen from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Samara, Zelenodolsk and Elabuga competed in nine races during two racing days. The leader among girls and overall was Maya Dubovich from Samara. Silver and bronze medals went to representatives from Tatarstan Republic – Liana Akhmadulina and Marina Ursu. Among boys, the winner was Kirill Pichugin from Zelenodolsk. Ivan Guzhov came second, and Arthur Metelev third.
